A Spectacular Pub, close to the Canal, with a lovely outside seating area, kids play area, and a covered seating area. The Food served at the Cheshire Cheese Pub, is what can be described as "Proper Pub Grub" excellent pies, chips 'n gravy. Superb Ales, and really pleasant staff, to match the friendly locals. All in All, Faultless. No wonder the folks of the Canal make a beeline to Wheelock. Good pubs like this one are getting few and far between. Keep up the Good Work, Cheshire Cheese, and Thank You 👍

This is my local pub and is right by the canal in Wheelock. Typical pub grub, great bears, good selection of gin and nice wine. Friendly, helpful staff. Enclosed beer garden with plenty of seating. Pub quiz every week and live music.

I will start by saying it is quite cozy and the drinks were fine.My only negative is the girl behind the bar appeared so uninterested and looked like she completely hated the job,she literally just looked blank at me rather than ask .. 'can I help you?' Or 'what would you like?' ... I was a little put off as she clearly has no customer service skills at all so I suggest the management need to address this as it is quite impolite and unprofessional.

Re: previous reviews, the toddlers slide is no more than 24" off the ground and any responsible adult would be able to prevent an accident if supervising a child effectively. People have mentioned problems with the car park. You would have to be blind to miss the notices in the adjacent car park informing drivers that it's a private car park and nothing to do with the pub.

We popped I for a meal but found out they didn’t cook on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. We popped in on a Wednesday. The person behind the bar was friendly and it was a very reasonably priced pub. We will hopefully visit on a food serving day next time. Also it was very dog friendly.

Great, traditional English Pub with quite a nice pint, served by friendly staff & an ever-smiling Landlady. Highly recommended. Very handy for Wheelock Wharf moorings and dog friendly.

Play area with a slide aimed at toddlers but not steps/handrail for children to actually climb. Caused my son injury. When we asked for ice because he had got hurt there was no mention of an injury book or first aid ... Ruined our whole evening. We went straight back to our boat and everyone is so upset. Terrible. My son now has a lovely big lump on his forehead. Edited to respond: what poor customer service for your response to be like that. I did infact look after my son and care for his injuries before posting so what a disgusting and disgraceful way to talk to a customer. The "male member" you refer to is my husband and he assured me he'd told you our son had fell on your equipment so as someone who has worked in customer service I know this should have been logged in an accident book. If you genuinely feel it's okay to talk to people this way you should not be working in a pub. Also there was 4 adults looking after my son. Myself, my husband and my parents and even with four of us, one literally standing beside him we physically could not have stopped him falling the way he did. Because there was no steps or rails... So...

The tasty and good value food, great beer, personal welcome and a fun pub quiz made our visit to the Cheddar Cheese a great tonic after a wet day on the canal. Well done Kirsty and her team!

If you are looking for a "real" pub with quality guest ales and a very friendly atmosphere, then look no further. The Cheshire Cheese is everything you could want in a traditional pub.

First time in the Cheshire Cheese and what a lovely little pub! Great service, good atmosphere, dog friendly and haven't given a rating for food as we didn't eat but it all looked good so we will be back and can update after that. Great selection of ales, spirits and wines

I absolutely love this place, there is always a great atmosphere, and there's always a cute dog to make a fuss over! It's a lovely cosy place for a drink, and Sophie is fantastic for knowing when I need a top up! The pub quiz and guest performers are a nice touch as well.

This is by far the best pub in Sandbach, wonderful staff, and I'd love to give a shout out to Kirsty. Always helpful always a good laugh. The pub has a great atmosphere, and is a great place to watch a game or make a fuss over a dog. Can't recommend it highly enough. Food is great and quick, and they have a nice selection of ales on offer. Plenty of seats and a good pub quiz.

We love this warm and friendly pub. The service is excellent and there’s a great selection of drinks, snacks and bar meals. It’s ideally located for walkers and boaters enjoying the nearby Rail Trail, Salt Line and canal. Dogs are also very welcome, they even have their own menu!
